Anyone think that cerulean gym was little difficult? I was even using two grass pkmn, pikachu, and golem and it still took me forever to beat

I think it was difficult, which is good because a lot of people complain about the game being too easy.

I guess, but it shouldnt have been that difficult, (at least raise the lvl cap a bit), now all ive gotta do is catch an abra (this should be fun)

The problem I have with Cerulean Gym is that I can't beat it with 5 lvl25 (front two with Thunder Wave, the rest with Electro Ball). Last time I checked, Electric attacks are supposed to be super effective against water pokemon...

They are, but there are a lot of grass and bug types that electric is weak against.

Electro Ball is powerful enough to take out the bug and grass pokemon (with the exception of Tangela). My main problem here is that 5 or 6 hits of Electro Ball won't kill a Goldeen/Seaking (can't tell by the sprite). It barely does any damage to it. The same applies to Staryu/Starmie.

the level itself i beat my first try, maybe i got lucky, and catching abra is tough but worth the effort once you get him

Tangela? Tangela isn't in the gym. Oh and Sam is increasing the level cap next update so the people having trouble in this level will have less trouble when they get their pokemon to the new max level. Golem is really useful for this gym, especially if it's in the middle. It hits all the pokemon neutrally with it's attacks other then the bugs and pidgey which it is super effective against and it can destroy a lot with rock blast. I wish the Starmie's were toned down a bit in Cerulean gym but it doesn't matter much.

It is too hard. Its easy with all level 25 pokemon. Why wouldnt it be though> I was only level 20when I beat misty back in red/blue, sometimes lower. The game is much harder on a dry run of it. Right now all the levels are easy because we are maxed out by the time the new one comes out. Of course it will be easy when we do that though.

Tangela? Tangela isn't in the gym. He's not catchable. It's one of the boss Pokemon.

Do you mean Shellder, Goldeen, Staryu or Starmie? Tangela is this: And he's not in the game yet. At least, I'm pretty sure he isn't.

I beat the gym with relative ease after i sat and thought about it. My Ivysaur was lvl 24, but other than that everyone else was 22 or 21, so you definitely don't need to be maxed out.
Set-up was like so: Geodude/Graveler-----------Poliwag -----------------Beedrill Ivysaur-------------------------Pikachu
Geodude used rollout to take care of bugs and pidgeys... ivysaur took out everything except starmie. Poliwag was double-slapping as i was trying to catch abra at the same time, and pikachu used electro ball... nothing special. Beedril just sat in the center and string shot everything.
As long as you have 1 bug in the center using string shot, you can pretty much faceroll if your pokemon are above lvl 20.

I don't know if I won or not, I had 1 candy left and don't know if I killed the guy. All I know is there was an Emerald Legendary. Does that mean I won?
