I felt like he was too easy... but he did say that we weren't supposed to have your pokemon leveled up to 28, and all of mine where. Interesting how only 2 spots for placement this time, looks like spot placement could be a very important part of future levels. Now for the rush to level up.
Charmander learns flame burst at 29 and meleon at 32, how awesome.

Yeah, Victreebell's Leaf Storm combined with any other super-effective attack completely destroys Kyogre.

Victreebel + Leaf Storm lv29 Raichu + Electro Ball lv29
Did the trick. Because of Kyogre's healing move, you have to stick to 18 cooldown moves, but anything powerful that hits often does it. Stole about five or six candies for me, but it was never in doubt.
Sadly, hardly any experience gain.

Victreebell shouldn't even be getting leaf storm until level 47. I just want to say Kyorge's base def is 90 while his base special defense is 140. I destroyed Kyorge using a shiny clefable and a shiny golem. We kind of need a new grinding level. o.e Virdian Forest 2 and Mt. Moon 2 will take forever to train our pokemon up to level 36 in. Not even Cerulean Gym 1 gives us that much exp.

I found it easy to beat Kyogre. I just had a Raichu using Electro Ball and a Golem using Rock Blast, both level 25. But I'm sure this tutorial will be very helpful for people who are having trouble beating the level. Also, you might want to edit your first post saying that Kyogre is a water type, not water/steel.

I'm disappointed at the lack of a new grinding level. Mt. Moon 2 gives less than half a level per runthrough for a lv29+, so it'll take forever to get 30-odd Pokemon to level 36. But, lots of opportunity for more shinies

Lol maybe you were thinking of Empoleon? X3 I get Pokemon types mixed up too. I used to think that poison was weak to rock. XD

Wow way too complicated for me. Can't I just use magikarps and splash my way to victory?

what I do on Kyogre was have Raichu on top, Venusaur(or ivysaur depending on level) on bottom. Raichu uses thunderwave on it and then switches to electro ball (or thunderbolt if it's high enough level). then Ivysaur uses poisonpowder, then growth and then razor leaf (or petal dance if you have it). it should be down by like the 2nd candy.
