You don't catch the million Pikachu that spawn with the last wave. Very rarely a Pikachu will show up in a earlier wave of bugs. That's where you can catch it =D (it's going to take you multiple playthroughs of the level. I would get to about wave 6 and then restart it)

I think if you have a level 16 or around that level Butterfree when it hits Pikachu with confuse it will get it down to red health. ;D

All you need to do is put in a bunch of low levels + metapod/kakuna with string shot and wait for it. it doesn't matter if you lose the level later on, since your target should be to just catch pikachu. you could put two high levels on the bottom near to rare candies to prevent loss as well.

you can catch one easily at the Viridian Forest stage. just when the wave starts be prepared and continously click/touch on the pokeball. and once a pikachu comes in the earlier levels(not wave 10) wait for its health to go down and then simply catch it.
you need to be patient.the pikachu might nto come easily.2-3 tries will eventually make it.

Best way; Get a beedrill or a jigglypuff and with them use stringshot and sing respectively. Then get a pokemon you don't have level max on and use it to attack the pikachu. Basically its a waiting game; you can't catch the final 3 pikachu in viridian forest. You can only catch the ones that show up in waves 1-9 of that level. There is a low percentage that they'll show up but when your lucky enough you'll catch him. Also, its been discussed to basically hover over your pokeball as your pokemon are attacking. Each time the pikachu takes a hit, grab the pokeball which essentially 'pauses' the game. If it not ready to be caught yet then release the ball and click it again quickly as the pikachu has probably taken another hit. You are using my tip as an example. -superstar-

Jigglypuffs sing combined with a lvl 10-15 with a low attack should be easy oh and a quick finger on the pokeball

If you're willing to put time into getting 4 butterfrees with poisonpowder (lvl. 12), i recommend that plus 2 low-leveled guys with tackle or maybe string shot

If You Are Trying To Catch A Pikachu Try To Stick To Pokemon With String Shot And Pokemon with Levels of about 10-12

I found that the pikachu that comes on the right side on wave seven is the only pikachu that goes down into red health
