Hey guys, I think it would be really cool if we could get HMs in the game, anyone else agree? You should be able to win them when you complete the gyms, it would make for a nice attack in battle.

I'm pretty sure we don't "need" them.. And what's so special about HM moves? You wouldn't be able to use them outside of battle.

Since there is nothing outside of battle in this game so far..... your post was pointless....... And im sure we dont need them either, since most of the moves you can learn are highly superior to those HM's

There are some HMs that are sometimes superior to the normal move pool. Fly is one of them, waterfall, and I am too lazy to go check on bulbapedia to see how strong all of the HM's are.

I'd prefer TMs. HM moves usually suck in battles.

Well seing that Sam has great ideas HMs might actually get a good use one day, for example you could use strenght with one pokemon to move a stone away and that would reveal a new strategic position for your pokemon, there could also be a dark cave where you cant see all the incomming pokemon and you would have to use flash (all the pokemon positioned on the map would have a small circle of visibility around them where they could attack but by using flash they could attack normally), i cant think of any other use so far but you get my point.

You could have a placement square that is a tree (requires cut) cloud (requires fly), water (requires surf), a movable rock to use a space (strength - good idea d3yci), and flash to light up a path (flash - another good idea d3yci).

I dont want HMs since I hate HMs in the game, having to use HM slaves and stuff is boring. But I'd really love TMs

Surf was my most used water move. And Fly was my flying move. But convenience sake, it is does require an HM slave (or losing a move). But I think its a challenge (and sacrifice) that can't be removed from Pokemon.

Well, how about HMs give ability to put pokemon on special tiles? For example, if you learn Pidgey HM Fly, you can put him on tree, and he gets extra 30% damage on all atacks, or if you learn some pokemon Cut, you can put him in tall grass, and he gets 20% Critical chance? These are jsut examples ofc. So they wouldn't be real atacks(not like TMs, they would just give a pokemon some specialty, like puting him on tree or smthing like that...). Or if u teach pokemon waterfall, you can put him inside waterfall, and he has 20% chance to flinch target?
What do you say?
