Yeah.. I always mess up and leave a lot of blank spaces, or I color in different directions and it looks horrible, and my drawings get screwed up. I usually only color the eyes of what I draw. ( gui225.deviantart.com/gallery/27647574#/d3285la )

That looks good! I guess someone likes drawing anime? I think black and white gives things a nice touch.

True, p0kdxfi113r, coloring certainly takes the longest and tires my arm out super fast, but when it comes to digital media, shading is the most intimidating for me. But in traditional media, I'm awful at coloring. Especially when my color pencils don't fill in the erased sketch marks.

I have worn down my colored pencils so much from the sigs, haha. And I have no idea how to color on the computer. So I'll be sticking with traditional methods.

It's really quite easy when you have a program that uses layers. The way I do it is this: -Once I open a new file I create a new layer for the first sketch. Usually this one consists of the shapes/'silhouettes' instead of lines. -I create a few more layers, each time with a more refined sketch, up until a certain point. -Once I've reached that point, I create another new layer in which I draw the lines. (after which all sketch layers are hidden) -Then I create a new layer and place it just under the lines. Then I color; this I do by hand. I usually have different layers for different colors and/or parts. And that's it. The colors don't show up over the lines when I use lines, so it lets me not have to be super precise, even with thin lines.
This is really hard to do with a mouse however, so I use a tablet. Tablets and layer-using programs aren't always expensive either, if you want to start to draw digitally. Cheapest tablet I've seen is $100, the cheapest layer-using art program I've seen is about $20. I'm pretty sure there are cheaper ones out there though.

Good luck man! : ) Glad I could help. Just know that most tablets don't have a screen on them and those that do are not cheap. My dad helped me get a thousand dollar one just because it has a screen, as the screen-less layout hurts my neck. Well worth it for me, but still, best to let you know.

Hey kindsoul, I'm starting on the coloring and re-lining right now. I just have a few questions: -Would you like me to do my best to straight trace over your lines to preserve your personal touch or do it in my own semi-realistic style, or get both? -Do you want me to trace over your little signature in the bottom corner? I know something like that can be iffy, but I'd like you to keep credit. -Do you want Zangoose's claws to be purple like in the third generation sprites, or the black they've been everywhere else? -You're cool with me not shading this, right? I'm too inexperienced in that area right now and I don't want to screw up the art with it.
