We should all meet up somewhere and party. I suggest San Diego. what? talking about the tread, yeah maybe sam could do a second generation, but he is going to focus on multiplayer, he needs money xd

Well, the story in the intro of PTD 2 could be along those lines (us leaving all our pokemon with oak), but I do think having it be an independent game is preferable.
Constantly building on old code can be a bit of a hindrance, especially as he learns new/better techniques for doing things that he'd be able to implement in a new game, rather than trying to rejig things to work with the existing one. Not to mention having separate batches of pokemon for each region strikes me as potentially confusing as well as filled with opportunity for bugs.
If we're really lucky, he'll even have worked out methods of stopping duping/hacking (or at least minimising it) by then, allowing that separate game to stay relatively untainted. It'd also give him opportunity to experiment with a different style of doing things. Of course, PTD2 (or an expansion of PTD into gen2) isn't even confirmed (or even necessarily likely!), so we probably shouldn't be getting our hopes up to much yet (besides, we're hardly even half done the existing PTD, so we've got plenty of playtime left yet).
edit: And of course, Nintendo is much more likely to actually step in and shut things down, rather than endorse it, so theres always the possibility of his future projects being necessarily not-pokemon related.

If he does make a 2nd gen. game I like the idea of starting all over but you get your pokemon back after the elite four.

if he makes an entirely new idependent game for gen 2 do u think hell make the moves look different like it does sometimes when they change gens for nintendo? also if he did star programming a new code, wont that just waste his time if he has to repeat making moves like ember again. and wuts to keep u from trading our level 100 charizard for when this game is one, over to the new version?

i dont think he would re do the moves it would be much easier to just use the same and what i think he should do is like both ds games and tv programe tv in like how ash constantly gos elsewhere and nintendo like how in diamond you can migrate pokemon from fire red/leaf green into dimaond so have a certain level in a new one like level 50 capable to trade with PTD 1 so have oak take your pokes at start and then at level 50 he could come back and give them back (only in clip of course cause everyone has different set ups) of course diamond is gen 4 so it probably wont happen but its a good idea and (prepare yourselves this is WAYY! into the future) in like a PTD 7 (acouting for time span it will take to make this many means pokemon company will probably have a sixth in th system) he could link them all together somehow like ending PTD 6 with returning to kanto then progressivly going all the way back through with a different plot and not getting pokemon replaced at the start of each region and everyone is stronger. now back to the present one could also have in a new one is keeping one pokemon at the high level like ash does with pika in the tv program and he starts at max cap and raises automatically with every badge you get
