i suppose this is a good idea, because that happens in all of the pokemon games. And alot of people including myself have a tonne of money burning a whole in my pocket, but whose to say im gonna lose it xD

haha, it would be very unlikley that people will loose money as with high level pokemon its easy to do, maybe loose money for every rare candy stole?

I disagree with the second idea. If we lost money for every candy/money a pokemon stole, imagine how bad that would be for levels like Mt. Moon 2 and Cerulean Gym. Also it would make it much harder for newer people since you have a bit of trouble with money as it is before you get to Virdian Forest 2.
The 1st idea sounds good, there should be some kind of consequence to losing a level. It should depend on how much money you have, like you lose 1/10th of the money you own. (That would be terrible if you had like millions lol.)

I don't think it is that great of a idea at the moment, perhaps in beta, But currently when you create a new profile you can not get through all the levels without a lot of grinding. And what i felt was best was fighting on the highest level possible (pokemon gave the best exp) even if i couldn't beat most of the pokemon. So this lead to me failing a lot of missions. So this would just make it harder for people to start off. But then everyone who has already got millions would not be affected.

*Has 1,000,000 money from trying to train training all my Pokemon and all the shiny Pokemon I catch in that time to the new level cap of 36 with the High Income Mt. Moon 2 while most Pokemon don't grow more then one level more then 3~4 levels of Mt. Moon 2* x.x
Ya, that seems like way to much to have xD I won't be using any of it any time soon too! So ya, I think the idea of "Per Rare Candy stole" would be a good idea. Here is what I think might be a good idea for this.

I agree with Budget. At the start of the game, I lost levels all the time trying to train. And I didn't have enough money to level the pokemon I had.
Perhaps Gym battles ONLY should fit in the this.

Or any level where you have to fight trainers/team rocket's Pokemon. I agree this shouldn't be added at the beginning of the game, however, it would certainly work near the end of the game...

I think this should only be implemented in the challenge levels, because in story mode my pokemon are too strong to actually lose. It would work for someone who is new to the game, but for most of us here it won't affect us. Besides, I have something like £800,000 so unless we lose like 50% of our money every time we lose, it isn't going to burn a huge hole in my pocket.

Well I think you are supposed to lose the challenge levels a few times until you understand the strategy of the level. I know I would lose at least once or twice each time.
Zackirus, agreed. Gym Leaders or Team Rocket. I guess any stage with blue pokemon?

the problem is, is that only route 3 and viridian forest don't have pokemon with blue HP. So... not the most ideal situation

I agree with only Gym Leaders or Team Rocket, its like bribing your way out ;D.
And firestar i think they mean levels that have only blue hp pokemon. So its Pewter Gym and Cerulean Gym 2

i think it's a good idea, but it should only affect people who have either more than $10.000 or have a team with an average lvl above 10 or something, this way beginners don't have to worry about it. and they are the ones that already have trouble with money, at later lvl's it doesn't matter all that much if you lose $1.000, but if you have just started it is devastating to even lose $50.

The money you lose should be getting higher the further you are in the game

what if there was a combination of losing a level and having rare candy/pokeballs/fossils stolen? for instance, if you lose a level you lose 1/20 of your money and every time you lose a rare candy or such you lose an amount equal to your strongest pokemon's level? this does leave a problem in levels like mt. moon 2. perhaps each level could be different? some levels have a penalty for losing the item, others for losing the level? just a thought.
