As of right now the trading section has so many threads and is so active that in less then an hour your thread can easily go to the second or third page. Trading will probably die down a bit soon but then it'll get more active once more people join the forum and when there are new pokemon and shinies to get. Now, my suggestion. First in the trade section other then admins and mods no person can make a trade thread. There would be a thread for each pokemon (Evolutions would be in the same thread as their pre-evo. Shinies go in a thread depending on what pokemon they are. Like shiny geodude goes in the geodude thread, shiny charmander goes in the charmander thread etc.) People can request and make offers in the threads. (Of course some threads might not have any replies at all because they might be like a pidgey or something. x3) (Serebii has a similar system like this and it works well)
So do you like my idea better then how we do the current trade section?

The problem is, some people are saying ISO: Shiny X, Y, Z, WTT: A, B, C. They would have to post in 6 different threads to cover all their possibilities. But I do agree that we need a structural change. I'm thinking of ISO (in search of) and WTT (willing to trade) threads.

Maybe a possible way of condensing this idea would be to have under categories of Pokemon type like charmander and growlithe under the fire type and chansey and pidgey under the normal type. just a thought

hudson we are talking about the forum, Sam makes no decisions in the forum. We could separate the threads into: in search of (non-shiny), willing to trade (non-shiny), in search of (shiny) and willing to trade (shiny). Then if it is possible have it so they are not on the "New Topics" Then over time when the forum gets bigger we can have it as Sir Wobbuffet said. So we have a thread for every pokemon chain, and instead they comment in it. Then we just need to have admins/Mods to be in charge of a group of pokemon. So someone would comment when they want a pokemon or to trade it. Trading could happen by people talking on that thread. if not and a person wants a pokemon but nobody is trading, the admin/mod in charge can get the username and put it on the initial post. This is so people can pm the person who wants the pokemon to offer him the pokemon. Then once a trade is complete the person on the list has to say that he has done the trade.

Oh, yeah, I was just saying it wasn't a problem for me. I do however agree that there needs to be a way to make it more...safe.

I just randomly got an idea about the trading, that maybe you can do on the other site when the forums are move.
Is there a way to keep track of who people can be trusted in trading? Think ebay, where you can rate the person who is selling the stuff. That way, you can see who can be trusted in trading and who cannot be, if that makes sense? XD

That would be like a user-based karma system, where users rank how trust-worthy others are. The problem is, we had trolls giving themselves +karma and -karma to everyone else. So the rankings wouldn't be reliable.

So the rankings wouldn't be reliable. Only on this forum. There will be a way we can incorporate a trade rating, we'll just have to work out how to code it. It'd work pretty well the same as eBay I imagine.
