Has anyone noticed version differences? I've noticed that Caterpie are much rarer in the Viridian Forest, and won't appear on Route 2 at all in Red version, and vice versa in Blue version. Also, Nidoran♂ appears much more commonly on Route 3 than Nidoran♀ in Red version, and, again, vice versa in Blue version.
So, basically, all there is right now(unless I've missed something) are differences in rate of appearance. There are no version-exclusive Pokémon yet, and no story differences. What do you think that Sam is going to eventually do with this?

Catching a Nidoran Male in Red was such a hassle. Took me three tries to even find one! And I really hope that there aren't any version exclusives until there is a good trade system -- if possible. I'd be running multiple save files if that was the case!

It took me forever to catch, too. :/ And, I actually AM running multiple save files, one for each starter, because I'm so OCD. I've got to have EVERY POSSIBLE POKÉMON, even if it means having more than one save. Two, on Red(Bulbasaur and Squirtle), and one on Blue(Charmander).

Oh, I actually meant Blue! Ahaha.
And that's wild. All three of them? Heck, if we're able to trade Pokemon between save files, one day you'll be very, very lucky.

Yeah, Nidoran female was ridiculous to catch in red version. But one always shows up between the fifth and seventh stage, so I just put in some low levels to wait for it.

Well, I've only played through my Bulbasaur file, the other two only have Oak's Lab done. Once I get all 11 of my Pokémon to level 20 on the Bulbasaur file, I'll move onto the Charmander file, and then the Squirtle file.

yeah, its just appearance rate so far, all of which goes by version exclusives for the originals. So I can't wait for my magmar and bellsprout yay for blue version.

Is there going to be a trade system?
Technically Mankey is exclusive to red, while his blue equivalent is Meowth, who is not in the game yet.
A trade between files using a link cable bought at a shop after a certain level might do the trick!

Lol, so much time wasted jk, I'll probably do the same later, but having one file with maxed pokemon is enough for me for now. Sam mentioned the exclusivity in his blog before, and basically what he said was that level 6 will be the only exception, and future levels will follow the pokemon set of the original game versions.
