Yup. It took me a few hours. I might put up a guide on cyclical training, which I found worked best. And time. It took lots of time..

Gyarados isn't that rare though and its easy to train, i would think it would be more valuable to have a lvl 28 magikarp

Hyper beam? Gyarados has better luck using Aqua Tail. Aqua tail has a power of 90. (After STAB 135) Hyper Beam has a power of 150. Hyper beam however is a special attack while Aqua Tail is a physical attack and Gyarados has a higher attack stat. Plus Hyper beam will probably have a long cooldown.
Saying this makes me wonder what Hyper Beam will look like, it will probably look cool.

I am pretty sure that Attack and special Attack are the same in PTD. I vaguely remember reading it.

I remember reading it too but it appears he split it because he has the separate base stats for attack and special attack coded into PTD.
(I remember Sam talking about this in the chat once and I saw a bit of the programming in the code that had the separate base stats for the pokemon.)

Like Pidgeottos, Garados'll be worth holding onto for when they kick as- butt. When they kick butt

Yep. Gyarados learns Aqua Tail at level 32 which will be awesome. And Thrash will probably be powerful once Sam programs that move into the game.
