Go to route 3, pick a spot in the front, and then put 2 pokemon in the most far-right spots to finish off anything you don't kill. If you run out of money, do viridian forest a few times.

Fastest leveling is probably grinding route 3, but I'm pretty sure the gym gives you more exp per pokemon killed, and I'm sure it gives you money for the level, so the gym could be a compromise between time spent, exp gained, and money gained.

I just put my pokemon in their places on the route and go to other websites and such while I wait for them to finish, checking back every something minutes. Anyone know about how much time it takes to completely finish route 3?

About 164 seconds, assuming you skip the cutscene and end time when he says "did you catch anything cool?".

^I don't know about that, Madness. The gym pokemon gives you much more exp, so if you're trying to fast level 2-4 pokemon and have the time to pay attention, it is a viable option. Also, it gives you money while route 3 does not.

Oh, and it gives more exp than viridian forest, making it a nice balance between fast leveling/exp gain and income.
