I do exactly what Reese2272 does but for A and B i use pokemon i want to train and if one of those pokemon knows a defense lowering attack i will move the other four pokemon to the second tier.

i do AB rocks B C D E ive got to the point where i just check to see if they leveled, if yes i throw a new poke in the team, if na, they all go back in.im trying to get ALL my pokes to level 36 :x

i use vf2 to train tprptprpt t t t t t t tk t kt
(p)=poke to be trained (r)=road/path opponent pokes take (t)=trees (k)=strong poke to kill stragglers;killer
that is my stategy. i find my pokes level not too slowly MODIFY: it doesn't really let me scale things properly, so it doesnt look right

i train alit in mm2 but i put the weakest in front and strongest in the back

two weakest ones who need most exp -> first row two "neutral" ones who need exp but arent that far from being maxed as the first two -> second row two killers who annihilate everything (alakazam, golem) -> third row
