So I've noticed that there have been quite a few threads that have been locked because people have bumped them when they were old. I was just wondering, what exactly is the necroposting rule? And if there isn't one, how long is it until it applies? (Necroposting is when someone replies to a thread that hasn't been repliedto in a while.)
I know I'm not staff, but I suggest that it should be depending on how they reply. If it's just a simple reply that says like "I agree" or something short and not exactly contributing to the thread and it's been like 10 days or more it should be locked however if they have a constructive response to the thread and it's been like 2 weeks since the last reply I think the thread should stay unlocked. (Of course there would have to be a limit like if someone replies to a thread that like a year old or something lol) Also, bumping and necroposting would be different. I think if the original owner wants to bump the thread after it hasn't been replied to in a while and they want more replies on the idea, art, trade, etc they should be able to without any kind of consequence.
(I was having trouble deciding weither this should go in help or here because it's kind of a question and a suggestion at the same time. o3o)

That one thread i did lock was because Connor was just posting about a chat that he already mentioned, and there was no reason for it.
sounded like he was advertising almost...

There were also similar threads locked because of useless replies after quite a bit of time since the last post so I was just wondering.

I feel that a help thread that has already been answered can be locked after a sufficient number of days later. I feel that some people just want to get a post out of old threads.

I agree, if there someone posts on it just to bring it back i would lock it. But if there is anything like a question in it i will but it in the FAQ (i want to get it MUCH bigger)

But if there is anything like a question in it i will but it in the FAQ (i want to get it MUCH bigger) about the faq, i think you should make it into two sections, a PTD section and a forum section. it can be in the same post , just put like a divider or something.

@charmander I was wanting to do that, its just is a little small at the moment, but Yes. My idea was to make lots of small sections for everything and just continue to add to it.

Hey guys, let's get back on topic here Anyone have a clear standard for how to handle necroposting? *I love the name btw

I think you misunderstand. Aleony created a thread a while back, where he posted about 6 pages of nonsense just to get his postcount up. That's why it's funny that he "agrees" with this thread. **EDIT** Sorry p0kd, just explaining myself. And I'd say posting in any thread older then a week with nothing new or relavant to say warrants a lock of the thread and a verbal warning.

OHHH, well soon and hopefully post counts won't matter.

I think post counts should still play some role. I support that standard: "new or relevant"
